George
LG Curiousgeorge or George as he likes to be called arrived in Tennessee from Pensacola, Florida on October 22nd, 2010. He is a striking black boy with a white tuxedo chest. This hound makes you take a second and third look—he is simply magnificent!
George’s does great with the resident kitties and although he doesn’t live with a small dog, shows no interest in them when he sees them on walks. He likes children of all ages. He says they are wonderful sources of uninterrupted petting!
George eats well and enjoys treats (Milk Bones, peanut butter in a Kong and cheese just to name a few). George takes the treat gently from his human’s hand and does not snatch or grab. WHAT A GENTLEMAN!
George crates well after being bribed with a treat or gentle push. George does cry for about 10 minutes when his human leaves, but then calms down and doesn’t make any further fuss.
George sleeps through the night with no problems. George is quickly learning house manners. He has had an occasional accident (urine), but otherwise understands that his bathroom is “outdoors”.
George can climb stairs with no problem and enjoys riding in the car. George still needs a boost to get into the vehicle, but once he is in, he is ready for his adventure on wheels!
George walks by his human’s side when on lead. He pulls some, but not anything in the extreme. He will potty on lead.
George lives with cats and a Greyhound mix and gets along well with them. He is not interested in human furniture and has made no attempts to get on the chairs, couch or human bed. George is a “collector” and will sometimes take things that belong to his human and mouth them. He doesn’t damage them and is easily voice correctable.
George is a “roacher”. No, that’s not illegal—it is when a Greyhound lies on his back with his feet in the air and sleeps. George loves to roach and will roach while his foster sister jumps back and forth across his belly. He is also known for his “horse noises” that he makes when his human takes him for a walk.
George’s foster mom has this to say about this stunning hound :
“He is appropriately named “Curious” because he likes to always know what’s going on! When we get home from a walk he always checks out all the rooms and upstairs to survey the place, then roaches on the hallway carpet.
He’s great on walks, pulled a little the first week he was here but now walks by my side almost 100% of the time. He seems to enjoy when I cuddle with him, and is quite the heartbreaker when he looks at you with his head cocked and one ear up. He enjoys his treats, but what he really wants is love from his owner. Whenever I give him treats in his crate he’s more excited about my hand that will pet him than the food. He’s got a lot of love to share!”
Could this boy be the ONE for you???
